Silver Lake Psychology is happy to celebrate National Mental Health Month. We know that you can share your journey anywhere and we’re honored that you would consider working with our therapists. The therapists that we have are passionate about mental health and helping improve our client lives!
Diversity is a key component in our strategy and our goal is to provide as many authentic therapy experiences as possible. Our therapists speak almost twenty different languages and come from cultures spanning the globe. No matter your background, we can help to find a therapist that can help.
Access to care is a main priority for us. We work with insurance, have affordable self pay rates, and make working with us easy. Silver Lake Psychology’s trained intake team speaks multiple languages and can provide a safe space from the start to share your story. Once we know a bit more about your needs, we’ll customize our search and offer you the choice to work with amazing specialists from across the state.
Health Equity is important to us!
Health Equity is important to us at Silver Lake Psychology. We understand that all adults should have access to all of the same forms of care without bias. Our Intake Team will provide excellent support and help you throughout your journey. We’ll check in with you to make sure that you are matched with your ideal therapist and can rematch you with one of our other therapists if you don’t think that it’s the best fit.
We aim to reduce the stigma of mental health
We are passionate about Mental Health and know that in the past it may have been difficult to come forward to get help. Especially for BIPoC, socioeconomic disparities may occur and an expensive therapist specialist may just be too far out of reach. We know that BiPoCs experience these disparities and have consequences to health, educational, social, and economic resources. A study by the American Psychiatric Association concluded that more than 60% of Black people believe that a mental health condition is a sign of personal weakness.
Culturally appropriate therapy is available
For BIPoC, it can be hard to find someone to speak authentically with. Silver Lake Psychology has focused our hiring efforts to ensure that we have as many different therapists available as we can. Native Americans and other Indigenous Peoples, according to Mental Health America, 20% have a mental health condition. Many of these populations though would prefer to speak to a spiritual or other community leader. We have therapists in these populations to give the mental health care that is needed in a way that is authentic to their identity. This is normally only available at boutique therapy services but Silver Lake Psychology offers all of our specialists affordably!
Our clients are as diverse as our therapists!
Based in California, we’re used to the multiculturalism that is prevalent in our state. We have dozens of therapists that can provide therapy in Spanish as well as many other languages! We also have many LGBTQIA+ therapists on staff that come from many cultures. No matter how you choose to identify, we’ll do our best to find your ideal therapist!
Silver Lake Psychology provides affordable therapy in California
Silver Lake Psychology is an affordable choice for therapy! While our services equal the boutique therapy services available to upper class clients throughout Los Angeles, we pride ourselves on being affordable to allow as many people as possible the access to mental health services! We know that insurance can be difficult if you are a BIPoC and wanted to ensure that you could access care even if you didn’t have access to health insurance.
If you do have insurance, we work with dozens of companies and bill insurance to make it easy. We’ll allow you to focus on your therapy journey and we will take care of the billing for you! We also have half hour sessions and bimonthly sessions instead for more cost effective options if necessary. We’re willing to work with you to get you the best possible therapy services possible while providing the ideal therapist to meet your needs and help you on your journey to healing!
