Group therapy is a great option for those that are looking to improve their life.  Going through the struggles of life with a group of people can be helpful.

Silver Lake Psychology is helping our clients by offering affordable group therapy services.  Group therapy is an important part of your mental health strategy.

Things to consider when starting group therapy

When considering a group therapy session to join, there’s a few things to take into consideration.  Here are the main things you should think about when starting a group:
  • Topic
It’s important that you don’t just choose a group to be part of something.  You really want to think about what your goals are in therapy and then choose a group therapy topic that aligns with your goals.
  • Time
Making sure that you attend group therapy sessions consistently is important for your overall success.  Make sure that the time that you choose works for you each week.
  • Participate
If you’ve never been in group therapy, you get out of it what you put in.  It’s important to try.  You need to share.  You need to trust the process.  By participating in the group therapy sessions, you can begin to learn from your therapist and other group therapy attendees.

Even if you’re not comfortable starting week one, we want to encourage you.  Groups are a great way to help you heal, understand that you’re not alone in your feelings or actions, and learn new strategies to help you cope with life’s challenges.

We have group therapy specialists

Silver Lake Psychology has many different groups for you to choose from.  Group therapy is also a great way to get access to a specialist.  Our group therapy specialists go through an intensive approval process.  We make sure that specialists offer group therapy services to make sure that they are as effective as possible.

Our approval process includes a treatment plan that is reviewed by our CEO and Psychologist, Brandy Engler.  We want to make sure that we’re offering you the best possible group therapy services.

Silver Lake Psychology is now offering Group Therapy!

Silver Lake Psychology is introducing two new groups! Dealing with mindfulness during the pandemic, these two groups allow for connection, self-compassion, and what the future may hold for us and our relationships. These two pointed groups can help clients to have a sounding board and support system that may be lacking due to COVID.

Mindfulness for Health Care Workers

The first group, run by therapist Kelsey Collins focuses on Mindfulness for Health Care Workers. This group will help explore the role that caregivers have in a pandemic. More than just the stress of the job, Kelsey will help members navigate through preventing burnout, improving sleep, and stresses outside of work.

She’ll give an overview of the topic, will facilitate a brief group discussion, and a chance to practice mindfulness techniques.

The Mindfulness for Health Care Workers takes place on Mondays at 4pm.

Mindful Connecting

The second group is Mindful Connecting and is run by Amanda Stemen. Mindful Connecting focuses on our relationships. Building relationships in a pandemic, venturing back into the world and meeting new people, and connecting with relationships that you already have will all be discussed. You will explore your concerns and learn tools to think mindfully and achieve your social goals, whatever they may be!

The Mindful Connection Group takes place on Wednesdays at 6pm.

How to sign up for Group Therapy

Both of our groups are affordable and only $25.00 per week. These sessions can help you to learn the mindfulness tools and strategies that can help you to improve your life, reduce your stress, and can lead to incredible change in your life.
