Guide to Insurance Plans
Insurance coverage varies by location and provider. Our intake team will connect you with the right therapist.
What is a PPO?
A PPO as an insurance plan without limits. You are covered by out-of-network providers. You’ll be able to see any of our therapist specialists.
Some of the benefits of using a PPO include:
Many highly trained, experienced therapists to choose from! You’ll have access to our entire state-wide network!
PPO Plans allow you the right to choose your therapist. You can also change your therapist at any time. This flexibility allows you to be in charge of your mental healthcare.
Choosing out of network benefits allows you to choose your specialist. You can choose to see our therapists without having to disclose why to other healthcare providers or coordinate care unless you want to.
You can also see any type of therapist. This means that you have hundreds of options. Just some of our 150 specialties include couples therapist, sex therapist, EMDR, neurofeedback and sensorimotor therapy.
NO WAIT LISTS
We offer same week appointments. We have NO waiting lists and we know that you’ll be seen quickly. Our clients appreciate that when they’re ready to start that we can get them right in to see a therapist.
APPOINTMENTS MADE EASY
Working with your PPO benefits is super easy! There’s no referrals necessary from your Primary Care Provider. This means that you’ll save time and money from the start! We’ll take care of the paperwork and billing. We’ll process you claims and make sure there’s never any surprises.
What is an HMO?
A HMO is an insurance plan that has limitations on who you can see. We take some HMO plans.
Our Matching Experts will help go over your options and help you to find the best choice for you that meets your needs and is on your plan.
|PPO||PPOs are the least restrictive plan. See whomever you want, whenever you want. PPO plans are the definition of freedom and empower you to make your own choices.||Most PPOs have a set deductible that you must meet before insurance will make payments on your behalf. Once your deductible is met.you'll still be responsible for a percent of each and every visit in the form of coinsurance. Because of this, your yearly health care costs can fluctuate greatly over time.|
|HMO||HMO plans have lower associated costs. The premiums are lower, and for in-network and covered vis its, policyholders are responsible only for a co-pay; there is no deductible. HMOs are also great for patients who want a doctor dedicated to coordinating their care.||HMOs are much more restrictive than your average PPO plan. With an HMO plan, policyholders don't have access to out-of -network providers, and services are li mited to what the policy deems medically necessary. In addition, you must confirm what services will be covered before your appointment.|
Which One is Better?
While either insurance plan can help you see a therapist, a PPO plan ensures that you’ll have the perfect client-therapist fit since you’ll have access to our entire network!
Silver Lake Psychology takes most PPO insurance plans and some HMO plans. Either way, you only pay a portion of the cost to see your perfect therapist match while we collect the rest from your insurance company and take care of everything.
What is a Deductible?
A deductible is the amount of money you must spend on medical services before your insurance benefit begins. Each insurance plan’s deductible is different and our Matching Experts can help you to understand your plan. It’s important to know that any money that you pay towards your therapy services goes towards your deductible.
Some deductibles can be quite expensive. If you have a high deductible plan you may also have a HSA or FSA account from your employer. In some instances it may make more sense to pay out of pocket than to pay through your insurance benefits. Whatever your unique situation, we’ll explain everything and make sure that it’s the best solution for you. Once your deductible is met, you’ll only have a copay.
** You are responsible for understanding your insurance plan
Our intake team and account managers will check your deductible and copay as a courtesy. We utilize insurance company portals which are not always updated accurately by the insurance companies. Insurance companies should mail you EOB notices, which will let you know right away if your session was covered. You may have access to this information before we do. Our account team will advocate on your behalf. We want your sessions to be covered and will help if your sessions are denied. If your sessions are not covered by insurance, we will offer our lowest self-pay rate. We believe that therapy should be affordable. If insurance does not pay, you will be responsible for payment.
Sometimes you may need additional support, and that’s ok! Silver Lake Psychology is your therapy partner. Our therapists and clients will cooperate to create a custom plan to best point you towards success. If you do need additional services here’s our breakdown:
